Australia Here I Come!

Australia Here I Come!

It’s finally time! This Friday, July 21st, begins my 4 month-long excursion to Sydney, Australia!

Time has flown by! It feels like only yesterday it was April and I was awaiting my acceptance into Macquarie University, my host-university abroad. Better yet, the day has finally come for me to leave my friends and family and go across the world.

It is all so surreal. I can’t believe time has flown by this fast. I am definitely feeling a combination of nervous and excited. Nervous about leaving friends and family, as well as being able to adjust to the culture. Yet even more excited to begin the journey of a life time, exploring a part of the world unseen to most.

I leave tomorrow, July 21st, to Los Angeles from Newark International Airport at 8 a.m. I’ll be staying with my Aunt Jean in Los Angeles for a night, to spend time with her, visit a friend, and show my travel-partner a small portion of the lovely California. Saturday night, I leave for one layover in San Francisco and then begin the 15-hour-long plane ride to Sydney. I’ll be arriving in Australia on Monday the 24th around 6:40 a.m. and will be picked up by a free service provided by my host-university.

I’ll be updating my blog regularly, talking about my experiences and giving tips for those who are studying abroad in Australia today or in the future. Make sure to subscribe by email and follow my social medias!

Ah how exciting, I really hope you like Australia! I live in Melbourne and I’ve travelled a fair bit around Australia and I think you’ll adjust to the culture really easily. Everyone is pretty laid back and you just gotta try some vegemite and you’ll be fine 😉
